Myrtle Beach, South Carolina through my lens. 🌊📸 Myrtle Beach, South Carolina through my lens. 🌊📸

One of my favorite things about photography is being able to bring a little piece of a place home with me.

These are a few of my favorite images I’ve captured in Myrtle Beach, and they’re all available as prints in my print shop!

The iPhone photo was the deer silhouette! 🦌

I had someone ask how you can actually tell the difference between an iPhone photo and one taken with a camera, and the truth is, sometimes it can be really hard to tell just by looking at the finished, edited image. However, there are definitely a few things you can look for that can give it away.

Things like how much of the image is in focus, how naturally the background falls out of focus, fine detail, low-light quality, lens compression, and the amount of processing applied to the image can all give you clues.

Phone cameras have gotten incredibly good, but natural depth of field, lens compression, low-light performance, fine detail, and overall creative control are still areas where a dedicated camera can really stand apart. In simpler terms, my camera can create that natural creamy background and subject separation more easily while also giving me more control over how the final image looks.

If I had taken this particular photo with my camera, I would’ve had more control over shutter speed, ISO, aperture, and focal length, along with better low-light capabilities, more detail, more dynamic range, and more flexibility when editing my RAW file.

This particular one made such a good trick photo because it’s a silhouette. 🦌 The deer is intentionally dark, so you aren’t really looking for tiny details in the fur or that creamy blurred background that might give the phone away. The light, composition, sky, and timing are really what make this photo work and thankfully my phone handled this moment very well!

Either way, this was an exciting picture to capture. 🥹 The silhouette of the deer, the colors of the evening sky, and all those little points of light above came together so beautifully. ✨

So… who guessed it right?! 👀

The photographer finally updated her own photo. 🙃F The photographer finally updated her own photo. 🙃Figured it was time to show my face around here again. 🤍🤳

My 30’s are treating me pretty well these days, and life is definitely full! I’m a college student, photographer, still working in the ER, and spending as much time as I can with my family. 🤍 So there’s always something going on.

You’ll definitely be seeing a lot more of me, my day-to-days, and behind the scenes of Life by Jessica Lynn, especially since I only have one Instagram and one Facebook now! 😂

And sorry for all the social media confusion lately. I just had to simplify things so I’m not trying to keep up with a million different accounts. Basically, if you’re here, you’re getting all of it now. 🤍

I’m excited for this season and for everything I get to share with you along the way. 🥰
