🥑🍳 My health journey looks a little different thes 🥑🍳 My health journey looks a little different these days, and I’m loving it! 😍 🤍 Something I haven’t shared much about is that last year, I started taking a GLP-1 medication to help with my weight-loss journey. Over the course of almost a year, I lost 54 pounds. But here’s the part I haven’t really talked about… I wasn’t losing weight in the healthiest way. I was barely eating enough to properly fuel my body. My appetite was so suppressed that I wasn’t getting the nourishment I needed, and eventually, I started feeling the effects of that. In August of this year, after talking with my doctor, I made the decision to completely stop taking the medication. Since then, I’ve been learning how to properly fuel my body again, eating balanced meals, and focusing on nourishing myself rather than simply losing weight. And honestly? I feel SO much better! My energy is back!🥹 One of my absolute FAVORITE things about being back in college has been studying Nutrition. I’m fascinated by everything I’m learning about the human body! How our cells function, how nutrients are used to produce energy, how our metabolism works, and just how important proper nutrition is for our overall health. The more I learn, the more my perspective changes. 🌱 I don’t want to spend my life chasing a number on the scale. I want to build muscle, have energy, nourish my cells, and create healthy habits that I can maintain for the rest of my life. And sometimes that starts with something as simple as a balanced breakfast. 🥑🍓🍳 I’m still on my weight-loss journey, but my focus is different now. I don’t just want to weigh less.
